The group is led by Prof. Shekhar Bhansali, Alcatel-Lucent Professor & Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. He has published over 200 peer reviewed papers, has been awarded 29 patents and has directed research training programs that have supported over 200 doctoral students in all areas of STEM (e.g. IGERT, 7 cohorts of Bridge to doctorate, and A.P Sloan Program). His research in the areas of bioengineering, oceanographic sensing, materials science, and alternative energy has received support from NSF, industry (SRI, Draper, and JCG), and national laboratories (Sandia and Los Alamos).
